About Power Green Group

A Qatar-based energy holding company.

Power Green Group is a Qatar-based energy holding company developing, investing in, and managing strategic projects across the oil and gas, power, industrial, and renewable-energy sectors. The Group connects international technology providers, investors, contractors, and government stakeholders to develop commercially viable energy projects in Qatar and international markets.

Our story

Innovations Unlimited ME was founded in Doha in 2009. Within its walls a small green division began delivering solar water heating and photovoltaic work for local developers — at a time when very few contractors in Qatar treated renewable energy as a serious engineering discipline.

In 2016 that division became powergreen — a full-fledged business with its own brand, its own engineering bench and its own warehouse. The transition from division to company allowed us to explore new avenues to share our passion, and to bid on work at a scale a side-line could never carry.

Today our portfolio spans megawatt-scale rooftop plants at Msheireb Downtown, the first vertical BIPV façade in Qatar at Falcon Tower, robotic cleaning systems for Kahramaa and a thousand solar bus shelters for Mowasalat — with an active tender presence across the MENA region.

Both companies sit under Bin Tawar Holding. The group provides the balance sheet, the logistics reach and the multi-sector delivery record; powergreen provides the renewable engineering — which is why a rooftop in Msheireb and a reservoir for Kahramaa can be carried by the same team.

Milestones

2009

Innovations Unlimited ME founded

The company opens in Doha with an engineering and contracting mandate, and a small green division inside it.

2012

First megawatt-scale work

Msheireb Downtown phases begin — on-grid PV and large-scale solar thermal water heating in the heart of Doha.

2014

Quality and HSE systems formalised

The Quality Management System is certified to ISO 9001 and the Occupational Health & Safety Policy is issued.

2016

powergreen is born

The green division is rebranded and spun up into a full renewable energy business with its own team and warehouse.

2018

Sustainable Project of the Year

The Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena rooftop plant — 1,146 modules, 250 kWp — takes the award.

Today

40+ projects, 6 MW+ installed

Solar PV, BIPV, solar thermal, solar lighting, wind and robotic O&M across Qatar and the wider region.

Why clients keep us

One accountable party

Feasibility, design, simulation, procurement, installation, commissioning and maintenance sit under one roof — no gap between the promise and the plant.

European components

Modules, collectors and luminaires from manufacturers whose warranties run 12 to 25 years and whose factories we have audited.

Yield that is measured, not claimed

Every system is simulated in PV*SOL or Polysun before installation and benchmarked against that prediction after commissioning.

A warehouse behind the warranty

800 m² of stocked spares and tools in Doha means a fault becomes a service visit, not a shutdown waiting on a shipment.

Why energy capital is coming to Qatar.

We raise, place and manage capital for energy projects here — so the case for the country is part of the case for the Group. Five things make it stand up.

Access to natural resources

The world's second-largest LNG exporter, with all electricity produced domestically and zero imports. The largest blue ammonia plant in the world is due to start production in 2026, alongside the 800 MW Al Kharsaah solar plant already on the grid.

Infrastructure and global connectivity

Ranked first globally for general infrastructure. USD 8.5 trillion of combined GDP sits within 3,000 km of Qatar, and more than 70 countries hold double-taxation agreements with it — which is what makes importing European plant and exporting energy output workable.

A resilient and stable economy

Six per cent average GDP growth over fifteen years, first in the GCC for economic resilience and for financial markets, and sovereign ratings of AA from S&P and Fitch and Aa2 from Moody's.

A pro-business ecosystem

Fourth globally for FDI confidence in emerging markets and first globally for tax policy, with liberal foreign-ownership law and an efficient legal framework behind it.

Engineering talent

Around 3,000 engineering graduates a year, more than 19 research centres and 32 higher-education institutions, third globally for openness to foreign talent, and a national target of 1.5% of GDP spent on R&D — the pool we staff project teams from.

Regional capital is moving with it: Middle East players spent about USD 5 billion on climate-tech transactions in the first three quarters of 2023 — nearly triple the USD 1.8 billion of 2022, of which USD 225 million came from Qatar. MENA solar capacity is expected to grow by roughly 180 GW by 2030, and Gulf national oil companies could capture USD 200 billion of green-hydrogen revenue by 2050. Where the Group sits in the cleantech value chain.

Qatar's cleantech value chain runs in four stages, from technology development through to long-term service. We hold positions in all four — which is why a client can hand over a target rather than a scope.

01

Technology development

Modelling, simulation and system design for green projects — the stage where yield, payback and grid behaviour are decided.

  • PV*SOL and Polysun yield simulation before sizing
  • Low-carbon and renewable engineering expertise in house
  • Remote monitoring and IoT platforms specified at design stage
02

Manufacturing and industrial scale-up

Local industrial capacity and audited European manufacturing partners, with technology tested in the project environment before it is committed.

  • European module, collector and luminaire manufacturers
  • Local manufacturing and industrial partnerships in Qatar
  • Testing and analysis in the project environment
03

Distribution and project development

Logistics, warehousing and system integration — turning a specified technology into an installed, commissioned asset on a Qatari site.

  • 800 m² of warehouse and workshop capacity in Doha
  • Systems integration and installation by in-house crews
  • Turnkey EPC, supply-only and output-based contracting
04

Services and end use

Energy efficiency programmes, certification support and the maintenance that keeps a plant producing for the twenty years its warranty covers.

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance with stocked spares
  • Production monitoring, reporting and optimisation
  • Support for LEED and energy-efficiency certification

Context: average annual clean-energy investment in the Middle East is projected to rise from about USD 24 billion (2018–2021) to USD 202 billion (2022–2030) and USD 326 billion (2031–2050) — a 61% compound growth rate. The MENA region receives 22–26% of all solar energy reaching the earth. Source: Cleantech in Qatar, Invest Qatar, August 2024 (IEA, IRENA, World Bank).
